Production Industrial Designer

About the role

A permanent Production Industrial Designer is sought to oversee manufacturing operations, streamline inventory processes and support bespoke, luxury lighting and design projects. The role leads the factory floor to deliver high-end products on time and to exact specifications, working closely with the Creative Director on technical drawings, CAD renderings and design development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, initiate and monitor daily production schedules and timescales for on-time delivery.
• Implement Quality Control standards against drawing specs, customer requirements and international compliance standards such as SASO, CE and ETL.
• Oversee packing, shipping and dispatch, and manage freight documentation with client service.
• Maintain a clean, safe and professional factory environment and manage basic facility maintenance.
• Control inventory levels, stock and purchase orders in line with project deadlines and cash flow.
• Optimise supplier costs through vendor price comparison and supplier relationship management.
• Track tools and consignment stock and maintain the asset register.
• Produce 2D component drawings, 3D renderings, spec sheets and inventory lists, tailor standard designs to client requests and assist in R&D and component sourcing.
• Maintain central design files and keep technical documentation up to date in systems such as Pastel and Dropbox.

Required profile

• Degree or formal qualification in architecture, interior design or industrial design.
• Hands-on experience in production planning, assembly management and team leadership.
• Proven track record in quality assurance, compliance standards and precision design.
• Experience in inventory management, supply chain optimisation and facility administration.
• Strong interpersonal and reporting skills to link factory operations with design and client relations.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in 2D/3D design software such as SolidWorks and Rhino 3D.
• Technical drawing and CAD rendering.
