Procurement Buyer – Witbank

About the role

The Buyer will support Glencore’s operations in Witbank by sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet quality standards and align with the company’s procurement policies. This role ensures timely delivery, cost‑effectiveness and compliance across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Source appropriate goods and services in line with operational requirements.
• Liaise with internal business units and external suppliers to guarantee effective service delivery.
• Drive procurement best practices to support timely acquisition of goods and services.
• Receive, administer and process procurement documentation.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and communicate quality or non‑conformance issues with suppliers.
• Monitor and follow up outstanding orders in the system.
• Handle business and supplier queries efficiently.
• Adhere to Glencore’s Procurement Policies and Procedures.
• Observe health and safety policies in all activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF level 5) or N3 certificate with engineering subjects and a valid trade certificate.
• Valid Code EB/08 driver’s licence.
• Minimum 2 years experience in supply chain or finance.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work under deadlines, follow rules and minimise compliance risk.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SAP procurement modules.
• Familiarity with Coupa e‑procurement platform.
