About the role
The Mechanical Plant Operator (Grade 3) is responsible for operating a range of heavy equipment on construction sites and performing basic maintenance. Candidates must be South African citizens, hold the appropriate driver’s licences, and have up to three years of relevant experience.
Key responsibilities
- Operate mechanical plant including scraper‑elevating, asphalt paver, class 4 LPG dozer, excavator‑loader, hydraulic crane and grader for road haulage.
- Perform basic maintenance and routine checks on all assigned equipment.
Required profile
- South African citizen with a valid ID document.
- Driver’s licence code 14 (EB and EC) to code B.
- Up to 3 years of relevant on‑the‑job experience and any applicable competency certifications.
- Pass departmental proficiency test.
