Platform Engineer – Build Engineering Platform for Leading FinTech (Cape Town)

About the role

We are looking for an intermediate‑level Platform Engineer to design and evolve an Internal Developer Platform that powers millions of financial transactions daily. Based in Cape Town, you will work with Kubernetes, AWS, GitOps, Terraform and modern tooling to shape the future of software delivery for a leading fintech organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and resilient platforms supporting application development, deployment and operation.
• Automate infrastructure and optimise CI/CD pipelines to improve developer productivity.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance and observability using IaC and modern monitoring tools.
• Drive platform‑engineering best practices and foster operational excellence across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years experience developing Java or C# applications in a software development team.
• 2+ years experience deploying, managing and rightsizing Kubernetes clusters and related resources.
• 2+ years experience designing and operating public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Hands‑on experience with GitOps/CI‑CD workflows, Helm and containerised workloads.
