Picker and Packer

About the role

H Systems (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Picker and Packer for a permanent position based in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The role covers picking goods from the picking list against customer orders, packing them according to company standards, general warehouse assistance and SHEQ integrated management system control. Candidates must start by January 2027, after the annual shut-down period.

Key responsibilities

• Picking: pick stock accurately according to the picking slip, verify what was picked, complete the slip with name, date, weights, dimensions and signature, and report anomalies, quantity and colour differences.
• Packing: pack stock into the correct bin locations, wrap products according to procedure, submit stock to dispatch, prepare products for shipment and load them onto vehicles.
• Warehouse assistance: keep stock neatly located and stacked, load and unload vehicles and containers, assist with receiving, accompany drivers on deliveries, conduct stock counts, clean the warehouse and sweep, dust and remove debris.
• Driving: assist with driving a company vehicle and delivering goods if you hold a valid driver's licence, keeping accurate delivery records.
• SHEQ compliance: follow the OHS Act, wear PPE, keep the workplace clean and report incidents and non-conformances.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a similar position.
• Basic numerical calculation ability.
• Knowledge of ISO standard requirements relevant to the position.

Required skills

• Able to pick and pack accurately, with correct quantities, quality and packaging.
• Can prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and meet productivity targets while staying accurate.
