Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy (Witbank)

About the role

Dis-Chem in Witbank is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to dispense medications, provide pharmaceutical expertise to patients and healthcare professionals, and ensure safe and effective use of prescriptions in a retail pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medication accurately under supervision, interpret scripts, verify patient details and provide usage instructions.
• Deliver customer service at the dispensary, self‑medication counter and front‑shop, including advice on medical aid costs.
• Process paperwork for medical‑aid claims, correct rejected scripts and manage chronic, HIV/AIDS and oncology authorisations.
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages, conduct bi‑annual stock takes and control cash and assets.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of medicines, dosing regimes, interactions and counselling.
• Understanding of retail pharmacy operations and ability to think critically.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a second language, with strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using SAP for pharmacy operations.
• Competence in e‑scripting and Unisolv systems.
