Personal Trainer

About the role

Planet Fitness in Bloubergstrand is looking for a full‑time, on‑site Personal Trainer to create and deliver safe, effective, and engaging fitness programmes for members. You will work one‑on‑one and with small groups, helping clients of all fitness levels achieve their goals in a supportive, high‑energy environment. You will play an active role in building a community that values consistency, encouragement, and ongoing progress. The position involves delivering both individual and group sessions that align with the club’s wellness mission.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized workout plans.
• Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and monitor client progress.
• Provide motivation, feedback and encouragement during sessions.
• Collaborate with club staff on member onboarding and promote gym services.
• Maintain a clean, organised training area and uphold health‑and‑safety standards.
• Build strong relationships with members to encourage regular attendance.
• Track and report member attendance and performance metrics.
• Ensure equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues.
• Stay updated with the latest fitness trends and incorporate them into programmes.

Required profile

• Recognised certification in personal training or fitness instruction; additional group‑exercise, sports‑coaching or nutrition certifications are a plus.
• Experience delivering circuit training and sports‑coaching programmes.
• Ability to work flexible hours and maintain professional conduct on‑site.
• Strong communication and customer‑focused attitude.
