Personal Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Commission for Gender Equality is recruiting a Personal Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) based at the Finance unit, Head Office, Johannesburg. The post reports directly to the CFO and sits at salary level 8, with a package of R413 000.01 per annum. The role provides secretarial and administrative support to the CFO and acts as liaison for the CFO's office.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and screen calls and act as liaison officer on behalf of the CFO's office.
• Make travel and other reservation arrangements for the department.
• Prepare reports and correspondence as requested by the CFO and the Finance Manager.
• Arrange and manage appointments for the CFO.
• Arrange meeting venues, prepare agendas and take minutes for Finance and Admin meetings, the Finance committee, ICT Committee, Loss Control Committee, BAC, Assets Disposal Committee and others as instructed.
• File departmental documents properly and maintain archived documents.
• Monitor and check the accuracy of financial documents pertaining to the CFO's office.
• Organise and manage the CFO's office activities as delegated from time to time.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in administration or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a Personal Assistant.
• Intermediate or advanced computer literacy certificate.
• South African citizenship.

Required skills

• Typing speed of 35 words per minute.
• Understanding of financial terminology.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with honesty and integrity.
• Organisational skills, problem-solving and analysis, excellent communication, multitasking and prioritisation.
