About the role
Smollan is seeking a People Consultant to help shape a positive workplace culture and support employee growth. You will act as a key partner in the HR function, driving recruitment, performance management, and development initiatives across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
- Oversee the Performance Management System and ensure effective reviews.
- Design and deliver training and development programs for business units.
- Handle administration, data management and reporting tasks.
- Provide people management support and foster teamwork and self‑management.
- Address poor performance issues and manage industrial relations matters.
Required profile
- 4‑5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail or FMCG.
- Diploma or degree (NQF level 6 or 7) in Human Resources or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management, planning and prioritisation abilities.
- Solid administration skills.
