People and Culture Generalist

About the role

The People and Culture Generalist partners with the People & Culture Manager to shape the colleague experience at Cape Grace, a five‑star Fairmont hotel in Cape Town. The role blends hands‑on HR generalist expertise with a passion for hospitality culture, ensuring every team member is equipped, supported and inspired to deliver world‑class service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment and selection process, from role briefing to offer, delivering a candidate experience that reflects five‑star service standards.
• Advertise vacancies internally and externally, ensuring visibility and alignment with brand values.
• Embed best‑practice HR processes and protect compliance with South African labour legislation.
• Support employee relations, administration and reporting functions.
• Foster an engaged, high‑performance workforce by nurturing a culture where colleagues feel valued, developed and empowered.

Required profile

• Proven HR generalist experience, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail, discretion and a service‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to balance recruitment, employee relations, administration and reporting responsibilities.
