Payroll & HR Supervisor

About the role

The AJP Group is looking for a highly efficient and detail‑oriented Payroll & HR Supervisor to manage payroll and HR administration for roughly 300 employees. This full‑time, office‑based position reports directly to the Group Human Resources Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely remuneration.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end payroll process, including salaries, overtime, bonuses and allowances.
• Validate payroll inputs such as attendance, leave balances and deductions.
• Process statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, pension, medical aid) and maintain compliance with South African legislation.
• Maintain payroll records, reconcile reports and prepare payroll‑related documentation for management, auditors and regulators.
• Resolve payroll queries promptly and coordinate payroll audits.
• Supervise HR administrative functions and keep employee records up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll processing and administration.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
• High level of accuracy, organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Psiber payroll system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
