Part-Time Lecturer, Human Resource Management (2027)

About the role

The Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Business Management (Human Resources Management), at the Bloemfontein campus of the Central University of Technology, Free State, is recruiting part-time lecturers for 2027. The main purpose is to develop academic material and deliver lectures in allocated subjects for own and other programmes, and to carry out appropriate community projects. Lecturers are appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, learn and assess students in allocated subjects, including student evaluation
• Deliver lectures in Business Management I, Business Management II and Human Resource Management I
• Carry out research and contribute to administration, control and organisation
• Take part in community service projects
• Be available during the day and in the evening, as most classes take place during the day
• Deliver face-to-face, remote or hybrid lectures; facilitation and assessment formats may change on short notice

Required profile

• An appropriate Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Master's or Doctorate degree in Human Resource Management
• Previous lecturing experience is recommended
• Availability to lecture on the CUT campus during scheduled class hours, which may include day and/or evening work

Required skills

• Experience with electronic education tools such as Blackboard is recommended
• Lecturers are expected to provide their own laptop computer

What we offer

• Hourly pay depending on qualifications and experience: R292 (Junior Lecturer), R358 (Lecturer), R438 (Senior Lecturer) and R600 (Assistant Professor / Professor) per hour in 2026
