Part-Time Lecturer - Hospitality Management (2027)

About the role

The Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Hospitality Management at the Bloemfontein campus of the Central University of Technology, Free State, is recruiting part-time lecturers for 2027. The main purpose is to develop academic material and deliver lectures in allocated subjects for own and other programmes, and to carry out appropriate community projects. The appointment is made on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, learn and assess students in hospitality management subjects such as Accommodation Management and Hospitality Marketing
• Deliver face-to-face, remote or hybrid lectures, with facilitation and assessment formats that may change on short notice
• Carry out student evaluation, research and administration related to teaching
• Provide community service and participate in community projects
• Be available during scheduled class hours, which may include day and/or evening work, and lecture on the CUT Bloemfontein campus

Required profile

• An appropriate postgraduate diploma (NQF level 8), master's or doctorate degree depending on the level of presentation
• Previous lecturing experience is recommended
• Own laptop computer

Required skills

• Experience with electronic education tools such as Blackboard is recommended

What we offer

• Hourly pay depending on qualifications and experience: R292 (Junior Lecturer), R358 (Lecturer), R438 (Senior Lecturer) and R600 (Assistant Professor / Professor) per hour in 2026
