Paramedic – Full-time at Cape Town Hospital

About the role

Netcare Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital is seeking a qualified Paramedic to join its emergency department on a full‑time basis. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality pre‑hospital care, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all required administrative paperwork, including legal documentation, patient reports and overtime records.
• Maintain hospital records in line with internal standards for every patient transferred from the casualty unit.
• Provide Advanced Life Support treatment in accordance with HPCSA protocols and respond to emergency calls from the Netcare 911 Call Centre.
• Log each call with a case number, ensure station cleanliness, and manage stock levels of medical equipment.
• Participate in continuous medical education (CME) and community health projects as required.

Required profile

• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and qualified to practice Advanced Life Support.
• Demonstrated ability to follow clinical protocols and maintain accurate data reporting.
• Strong organisational skills for handling documentation, equipment control and stock management.
• Willingness to adhere to Netcare policies and engage in ongoing professional development.
