Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant – Head & Neck Oncology

About the role

The NHS Grampian department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is recruiting two full‑time Oral‑Maxillofacial Consultants with a special interest in Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery. These permanent posts work 40 hours per week and will play a pivotal role in expanding the Head and Neck Oncology service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care across all major specialty areas.
• Lead and develop the Head and Neck Oncology and reconstructive surgery service.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and other specialties to provide integrated patient care.
• Contribute to teaching and research, including an honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer appointment.

Required profile

• Full registration with a licence to practise from the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Dental Council (GDC).
• Evidence of higher specialist training leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of confirmed entry.
• Extensive experience in all major branches of oral‑maxillofacial surgery.
• Demonstrated interest and experience in head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery.
