About the role
Dr Dean van der Westhuizen Inc. is hiring an additional full-time Ophthalmic Assistant to join its team in the new rooms at Lowveld Eye Institute in Mbombela. No experience is required: applicants without experience will be trained properly, and experienced applicants are also welcome.
Key responsibilities
- Take patient histories, test vision and eye pressure
- Dilate pupils and capture OCT and retinal scans
- Support biometry, theatre and injection lists
- Capture clinical data on the digital, paperless system
- Keep patients moving, informed and at ease
Required profile
- Matric
- Computer literate and quick with technology
- Warm, clear communicator who loves giving great service
- Enthusiastic, dynamic and eager to learn and grow
- Team player
- Experience is a bonus, not a must; full training is provided
