Operations Manager

About the role

The company is a well‑established engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day operational activities. This senior leadership position requires a commercially minded professional who can optimise workflows, manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure quality, safety and customer expectations are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operational activities across engineering and manufacturing environments.
• Plan, organise and optimise workflows to improve productivity, efficiency and delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing and support teams, handling performance, development and workforce planning.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs, performance metrics and reporting systems.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives, applying Lean, Six Sigma or other methodologies.
• Manage resource allocation, budgeting, cost control and financial performance of operations.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and company standards.
• Coordinate activities between engineering, production, procurement, quality, projects and other business functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in Operations Management within an engineering, manufacturing or technical services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive performance.
• Strong understanding of operational planning, workflow optimisation and resource management.
• Experience with performance management, operational KPIs and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control and resource allocation.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site in South Africa.
