Operational Emergency Care Practitioner

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Operational Emergency Care Practitioner to join its ER24 service. The role involves delivering high‑quality critical care in an operational environment, applying sound clinical judgment and current evidence while providing clinical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure operational readiness for emergency calls.
• Administer patient care in accordance with the scope of practice and clinical guidelines.
• Promote and maintain a positive public image for the ER24 service.
• Perform basic shift administration tasks, including documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Emergency Medical Care or Bachelor in Emergency Medical Care.
• Newly qualified Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) with operational EMS experience.
• Willingness to complete any required Clinical Practice Guidelines training during probation if not already compliant.
• Strong knowledge of HPCSA guidelines, best practice EMS procedures, and patient report forms.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
