Online Bilingual English/French Teacher (Johannesburg)

About the role

EF Education First is seeking bilingual English/French teachers to deliver online lessons to adult learners worldwide. The position is based in the Hyde Park office in Johannesburg and offers a permanent, full‑time contract. You will work with beginner‑level students, using EF’s proprietary online classroom and pre‑prepared lesson materials.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 40‑ to 45‑minute conversation‑based group and private online lessons for adult learners.
• Provide after‑class progress reports and personalized improvement recommendations.
• Participate in mandatory training sessions and ongoing professional development.
• With experience, create custom lesson materials tailored to student needs.

Required profile

• South African residency with a valid ID document.
• C2‑level English proficiency with a neutral accent.
• B2‑C1 proficiency in French.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (NQF Level 7).
• TEFL certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Highly computer literate and able to work from the Johannesburg office.
• Professional, energetic, and enthusiastic about teaching.
