Oncology Nurse Practitioner

About the role
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will deliver holistic, patient‑centered nursing care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Working closely with oncologists and the inter‑professional team, you will ensure high‑quality clinical support, education, and coordination of care.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care using the nursing process.
- Conduct comprehensive history taking and physical examinations for oncology patients.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret laboratory results, and track treatment side‑effects.
- Identify oncologic emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and educate patients on self‑care.
- Provide telephone support for symptom management and arrange physician consultations when needed.
- Coordinate medication scripts with pharmacies and manage central venous access device (CVAD) access and maintenance.
- Perform nursing procedures such as wound care, injection administration, gynae exams, fine‑needle aspiration biopsies (FNAB) and ascites taps.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to gather clinical histories and ensure accurate EMR documentation.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow‑up care, including post‑treatment prostate patient monitoring.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse with advanced practice qualifications in oncology.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

- Strong communication skills for patient and family education.
Required skills
- CVAD access and maintenance.
- Interpretation of blood test results.
