Non-Executive Finance and Audit Director (Board Member)

About the role

The Non-Executive Finance and Audit Director will join CHABAHIVA NPC's Board of Directors to provide strategic financial oversight and governance. This voluntary, non‑remunerative position supports the organisation's long‑term sustainability, transparency and stewardship of donor resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of financial performance and sustainability.
• Review financial statements, budgets, forecasts and management accounts.
• Support the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities.
• Contribute to financial risk management and governance processes.
• Assist in strengthening financial controls and compliance frameworks.
• Participate in Audit, Risk and Finance Committee activities.
• Support fundraising and donor engagement initiatives where appropriate.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and long‑term sustainability of CHABAHIVA NPC.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent senior financial management professional.
• Experience serving on boards, audit committees, finance committees or similar governance structures.
• Knowledge of non‑profit, NPC, trust or donor‑funded environments is desirable.
• Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management and compliance.
• Commitment to ethical leadership and good governance principles.
