Nightshift DC Dispatch Supervisor – Midrand

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is looking for a Nightshift DC Dispatch Supervisor to lead warehouse dispatch operations. The role focuses on achieving operational excellence across order consolidation, route planning, local and line‑haul dispatch, returns handling and vehicle maintenance while meeting legal and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise routes and space to meet daily strategic objectives.
• Oversee dispatch of deliveries to local stores next day and to coastal stores within 48 hours.
• Manage returns, upliftments and track them through the return process.
• Supervise vehicle utilisation, turnaround times, maintenance records and fuel consumption.
• Monitor fleet running costs, process accidents and insurance claims.
• Ensure drivers are debriefed, paperwork completed and queries resolved.
• Supervise outsourced service providers, monitor SLA compliance and costs.
• Analyse shrinkage indicators and act proactively to mitigate loss.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric with a Transport Management or Supply‑Chain/Logistics degree or diploma.
• South African citizen, MIE clearance, clear criminal and credit record.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Advantageous: minimum 2 years experience in distribution, logistics or supply‑chain environment.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking); second language a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of distribution centre logistics and supply‑chain operations.
• Experience with route and space planning and vehicle utilisation.
