DC Dispatch Controller – Night Shift (Midrand)

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is looking for a DC Dispatch Controller for the night shift. The role supports the Clinic Nurse Practitioner with daily operations of the Primary Health Care Clinic located within the pharmacy, operating within the scope of an enrolled nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure physical quantity checks match DLS quantity balances with 100% accuracy.
• Manage dispatch process flow, applying FIFO principles to aged stock.
• Meet shift‑specific targets while maintaining high accuracy.
• Remove incorrect store stock and handle penalty area queries.
• Support dispatch clerks to prevent delays and hand over verified DLS documents.
• Identify and act on security or risk issues.
• Analyze shrinkage indicators and take corrective action.
• Record and scan all cross‑dock and inter‑branch invoices.

Required profile

• Thorough understanding of departmental functions and processes.
• Knowledge of relevant computer packages and MS Office Excel.
• Awareness of business measures and targets related to the role.
• Good judgment and ability to assess operational impacts of decisions.
• Ability to identify obstacles and refer issues to warehouse management.
• Security‑conscious with zero tolerance for theft or fraud.
• Flexible with night‑shift hours and strong time‑management.
• Strong communication skills in English.
