Millwright – Maintenance Operations

About the role

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products, is looking for a dedicated Millwright to join its Engineering team in the Commercial division. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, you will support the factory’s FMCG production lines by performing preventive maintenance and ensuring equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Execute and close job cards accurately and on time.
• Maintain precise job card administration and adhere to manufacturer service schedules.
• Follow standard operating procedures for maintenance and production.
• Eliminate re‑work by targeting zero percent waste.
• Comply fully with time‑and‑attendance, health & safety, and food‑industry regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified Millwright with a competency certificate.
• 2–3 years of experience in an FMCG factory environment.
• Ability to work shifts, possess own transport and basic hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail, stress tolerance and flexibility for breakdowns.

Required skills

• Millwright competency certification.
• Knowledge of VSD (Variable Speed Drives) and PLC systems.
• 3‑phase wireman’s licence.
• Experience with FMCG equipment operation and maintenance.
• Preventative maintenance techniques and job card administration.
