Lab Manager

About the role

The Lab Manager will lead the analytical and microbiological laboratory at a Mondelēz International manufacturing site, ensuring product quality, food safety and compliance with all relevant standards. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role combines people leadership, budget responsibility and continuous improvement of laboratory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all quality objectives, goals and targets for the plant are achieved, including regional and global commitments.
• Develop, monitor and manage the laboratory budget while eliminating losses.
• Conduct PDCA cycles to plan, execute, check and act on quality targets.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety laws, GLP and HACCP standards.
• Lead crisis management related to quality issues, both internally and externally.
• Recruit, structure and develop the laboratory team, set performance goals and provide coaching.
• Perform routine analytical and microbiological testing, analyze data statistically and report trends.
• Implement and maintain HACCP procedures as part of the plant’s HACCP team.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in operations, quality assurance or R&D within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven project‑management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Experience with commercial strategy, product/package development and food‑safety processes.
• Strong communication skills and experience leading cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work with external suppliers and customers on quality‑related issues.
