Millwright – Maintenance (Electrical & Mechanical)

About the role

Join Lactalis SA at its Ladismith plant as a Millwright reporting to the Maintenance Foreman. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment, covering both electrical and mechanical tasks in a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on PLC systems.
• Record all work in the Pragma maintenance system, completing schedules and job cards promptly.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards.
• Train machine operators on basic repairs during production runs.
• Keep tools and work areas clean at the end of each shift.
• Communicate effectively with production regarding breakdowns and maintenance plans.
• Support the Technical Manager and Engineering team with new technology implementation.
• Participate in quality, safety, and FSSC 22000 initiatives.
• Provide standby coverage and work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Required profile

• Trade‑tested, qualified Millwright.
• Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG production maintenance.
• Strong sense of urgency and performance‑driven attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle shift work.

Required skills
