MFC Broker Consultant (Tygervalley)

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a driven professional to join its Tygervalley team as an MFC Broker Consultant. The role links the Retail Mass Market division, the Two Mountains brand and the independent broker network, and suits someone who wants to grow a sustainable portfolio of independent brokers and advisers. It is a field-based, strategic business partnership role focused on sales growth and relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and portfolio growth: identify, recruit and onboard new independent brokers with potential for high-volume, sustainable business, and meet monthly and annual sales targets through strategic planning.
• Relationship management: understand each broker's business model, run regular performance reviews, spot gaps in production and take corrective action.
• Adviser enablement: train broker teams, raise product awareness and help advisers sell Old Mutual's solutions confidently.
• Market penetration: promote the brand in new communities and networks, represent the organisation at industry events and keep brokers up to date on legislative and product changes.
• Quality control: monitor the quality of sales so the portfolio stays profitable and sustainable.

Required profile

• Background in financial services distribution.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in insurance or financial services.
• Firm understanding of the South African funeral insurance market and the regulatory environment for independent brokers.
• Ability to cover a mix of established metropolitan areas and emerging markets around Tygervalley.

• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with broker principals.
• Analysis of broker performance data to spot trends, risks and growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex product propositions.
