Medical Technician / Technologist – Clinical Pathology

About the role

A Medical Technician/Technologist is sought to join the team at the Donald Gordon branch in Johannesburg. The employer is looking for someone with a proven clinical record, a high level of ethics and integrity, and alignment with the PathCare values. Shortlisted candidates must complete a technical proficiency assessment.

Required profile

• 3-year Biomedical Technology diploma or Medical Technician Certificate in Clinical Pathology
• Current HPCSA registration in Clinical Pathology
• At least 1 year of clinical experience after HPCSA registration
• Experience with basic troubleshooting on instruments
• Fluent English with an understanding of Afrikaans
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Acceptable performance record on technical and behavioural competencies

Required skills

• Computer literacy; knowledge of Skylims is advantageous
• Client focus, attention to detail, effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Initiative, problem solving, stress resistance, adaptability and result orientation
