Enrolled Nurse Specialist - ICU

About the role

Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital in Johannesburg has two vacancies for Enrolled Nurse Specialists in the ICU, reporting to the Unit Manager. The purpose of the role is to carry out nursing activities that ensure quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out nursing duties that meet the requirements of quality patient care, in line with SANC regulations, relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies and procedures
• Maintain health, safety and infection control standards to ensure a safe patient environment
• Use resources effectively and maintain equipment accurately
• Keep accurate records and continue the education of patients
• Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse qualification, registered with SANC
• Relevant experience in ICU
• Willingness to work shifts and to take on a ward role under the flexi-hours system
• An advantage: understanding of the private healthcare industry, computer proficiency, experience in specialist disciplines
