Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team near Stikland, Bellville, Cape Town. The role focuses on designing new electronic equipment and its housings, from concept through to mass fabrication and testing.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of mechanical projects for electronic products.
- Create detailed 3‑D models and drawings using SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Develop prototypes, oversee assembly processes, and conduct functional testing.
- Ensure designs meet certification standards and production requirements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical solutions with electrical and software components.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (Afrikaans mandatory for office communication).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Engineering degree (mechanical or related discipline).
Required skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Fusion 360.
