Meat Factory Manager

About the role

An established meat processing and butchery business in Knysna is looking for an experienced Meat Factory Manager. The role is hands‑on and production‑focused, overseeing all aspects of meat cutting, deboning, portioning, processing, packaging and dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily meat processing and factory production operations, ensuring targets are met.
• Supervise factory personnel, allocate duties and monitor performance.
• Maintain strict compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Monitor product yields, stock usage, waste reduction and produce accurate production records.
• Oversee cold storage, temperature monitoring and product traceability.
• Coordinate machinery maintenance, cleaning schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in meat processing, production or factory management within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of meat cutting, deboning, portioning, processing and packaging procedures.
• Understanding of HACCP, food safety regulations and quality assurance.
• Experience managing production lines, staff and meeting daily production targets.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
