About the role

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Mathematics Head of Department to join a reputable school in Durban. The successful candidate will lead the Mathematics department, delivering high‑quality instruction at the Matric level and fostering academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality Mathematics instruction, especially for Matric learners.
• Promote academic excellence and learner achievement across the department.

Required profile

• SACE registration (essential).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Education with Mathematics as a teaching subject.
• Minimum 7 years' teaching experience as a Mathematics educator.
• Matric Mathematics teaching experience (essential).
• Strong classroom management and lesson‑planning abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for learner development and academic excellence.
• Advantageous: Matric marking experience, use of educational technology, independent school experience.
