Material Recording Clerk

About the role

The Gauteng Department of Health is recruiting a Material Recording Clerk for the Supply Chain Management unit at South Rand District Hospital, Johannesburg. The position is advertised with reference REFS/056990 and carries a stated remuneration of R 237 453.00 per annum plus benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Promptly update stock on tally cards VA 10 and VA11a.
• Update voucher files VA4, VA5 and VA6.
• Execute issue, requisition and receipt vouchers (VA2, RLS01, RLS02 and VA7).
• Conduct physical (PAS) and administrative stock counts.
• Order stock and update stock cards at the Supply Chain Department.
• Receive and dispatch stock.
• Register, cost, issue and fill requisition vouchers (VA2).
• Capture external requisitions in the Supply Chain Management system in line with PPPFA and PFMA.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate (Matric) or equivalent; entry-level.
• 1-2 years of experience in a hospital environment.
• Supply Chain Management experience is an added advantage.
• A relevant diploma or degree is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of supply chain processes, including demand, acquisition, inventory management and transit.
• Understanding of relevant prescripts, regulations and policies.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
