About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer will support ISUZU Motors South Africa’s Manufacturing and Product Engineering Department by planning, developing and integrating assembly tooling and facilities. This role is critical for new model introductions, re‑rates, model‑year changes and other product, quality or process improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and develop assembly tooling and related facilities for new vehicle models and updates.
- Manage projects from process design through to the implementation of tooling, machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with product engineering, quality and process teams to ensure seamless integration of changes.
- Support re‑rate programmes and model‑year modifications by delivering appropriate tooling solutions.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards and the IMSAf Employment Equity Plan.
Required profile
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field).
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Proven ability to manage projects from concept to implementation.
- Understanding of assembly tooling, facilities design and integration.
