Maintenance & Project Manager – Gqeberha

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is looking for an experienced Maintenance & Project Manager to lead the Maintenance Department in Gqeberha. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for equipment reliability, overseeing maintenance operations and delivering capital projects that support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative and proactive maintenance strategies for electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation systems.
• Lead planning, budgeting and execution of CAPEX projects, plant upgrades and new equipment installations, coordinating suppliers and contractors.
• Manage the annual maintenance budget, monitor project spend and identify cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards through regular inspections and risk assessments.
• Coach and develop a high‑performing maintenance team while managing external service providers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance and project engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Engineering degree or diploma with GMR2 certification.
• Proven track record of delivering capital projects and managing equipment reliability programmes.
• Strong background in budgeting, cost control and stakeholder management.
