About the role

The Managing Director will provide strategic leadership for a dynamic engineering and production company based in Cape Town. This senior role oversees all operational, financial, and client‑facing activities, ensuring the business delivers high‑quality projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and lead the company toward its growth objectives.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team of 35‑50 employees, including engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily operations, implement performance metrics, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Develop, monitor, and control the company’s budget, financial performance, and profitability.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive revenue growth initiatives.
• Plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, timeline, and budget targets.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Implement HR strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent, including performance reviews and issue resolution.
• Explore new business opportunities and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or industrial environments.
• Strong track record of managing large, cross‑functional teams.
