Managing Director, Bookkeeper & Loan Officer

About the role

The Savings & Credit Cooperative Ltd (SADTU SACCO) seeks a dynamic Managing Director who will also handle bookkeeping and loan officer duties. The role combines strategic leadership, financial oversight, and loan portfolio management to drive growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, develop business plans and monitor progress.
• Provide leadership, coach staff and enhance employee engagement.
• Prepare and present reports and presentations to the Board of Directors.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and the Loan Committee.
• Ensure accurate accounting for audit and compliance with SACCO regulations.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to expand the cooperative.
• Assess loan applications, maintain loan registers and monitor disbursements and collections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce (CPA or ACCA preferred).
• At least 10 years experience in a financial institution, including 5 years in a management role.
• Proven experience managing a loan portfolio and working as a loan officer.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.
