Manager, Legal Affairs – Technology & Enablement Functions

About the role

MTN Group Fintech is seeking a Manager for Legal Affairs focused on Technology and Enablement Functions. The role will support operational and commercial excellence by providing legal expertise across a range of digital and technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory, contract review and execution support to MTN Group Fintech’s technology, digital platform, data and enterprise enablement functions.
• Assist the Senior Manager in delivering practical, commercially sound and risk‑based legal support for technology platforms, cloud services, APIs, data, cybersecurity, AI, digital infrastructure, outsourcing, procurement, HR, finance, risk, company secretariat and shared services.
• Identify, document and manage legal risks while enabling fast, compliant and scalable execution of technology and enterprise initiatives across Group Fintech and its operating companies.

Required profile

• Minimum 4‑year tertiary degree in Law or a related field.
• Admitted Attorney/Advocate with relevant professional registration.
• At least 3 years of legal affairs management experience in the financial sector, banking, fintech product or service management.
• Proven experience operating in multi‑country or multinational environments.
• Exposure to complex commercial transactions, partnerships and regulatory environments.
• Experience defining and executing legal affairs strategies, policies and frameworks in large‑scale financial services or consumer finance settings.
• Deep understanding of the digital ecosystem, business models and industry best practices.
