Manager Expenditure

About the role

The Manager Expenditure will oversee the municipality's spending processes, ensuring timely payments, accurate reporting, and compliance with internal controls and legislation. This permanent position supports the Corporate Services Department in delivering efficient financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and program annual schedules to guarantee sufficient operating capacity and resources for departmental service delivery.
• Authorize supplier invoices and entities using the PROMUN system.
• Develop monthly expenditure reports and perform reconciliations.
• Manage the compilation of quarterly accrual reports.
• Ensure suppliers are paid within 30 days and oversee payment uploads on the invoice tracking system.
• Maintain compliance with internal control systems and relevant legislative prescripts.
• Perform audit and risk management functions and handle general office administration.
• Review and amend expenditure policies to align with legislation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• National Diploma in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience in a municipal environment.
• Valid Code EB driving licence.
