Management Consultant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established consulting firm focused on public‑sector and municipal advisory services, is looking for a Management Consultant to join their Cape Town team. The role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys tackling complex challenges, engaging with government stakeholders, and delivering strategic solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and support public‑sector consulting projects.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships.
• Support GRAP implementation and Annual Financial Statement preparation.
• Compile and maintain Fixed Asset Registers.
• Lead municipal asset and liability management initiatives.
• Drive mSCOA implementation and ensure MFMA and PFMA compliance.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Assist business development and bid preparation activities.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, or Public Finance.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a public‑sector finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of PFMA, MFMA, mSCOA, and GRAP.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
