Maintenance Supervisor – FMCG

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team in a fast‑moving FMCG manufacturing environment, ensuring high equipment availability and compliance with safety standards. This role combines hands‑on technical support with coordination of preventive and reactive maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and reactive maintenance on high‑speed production lines and packaging equipment.
• Support the implementation of planned maintenance schedules and TPM initiatives.
• Monitor equipment performance, report downtime, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain critical spares inventory and assist with stock control.
• Supervise artisans, technicians, and on‑site contractors, providing hands‑on support during breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and KPI reporting.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Trade‑tested Millwright or Electrician.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Experience with high‑speed lines, automated systems, PLCs, and utilities.
• Valid driver’s licence, own transport, and residence in Port Elizabeth/Uitenhage.
• Willingness to work every second weekend and be on standby.
