Maintenance Operator – Mechanical (Grade 2)

About the role

Sasol is seeking a Grade 2 Maintenance Operator to support the upkeep of mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems at its Secunda operations. You will operate equipment, collect field data and help ensure optimal productivity while adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and accompany artisans to safely execute maintenance tasks.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure tools are stored safely.
• Prepare, arrange and pack tools required for each task.
• Support installation and removal of machine components.
• Identify and apply the correct oil or lubricant for services.
• Drive and deliver samples as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English, or Full N3 with the same subjects.
• NQF Level 2 Mechanical Occupational Qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑analysis and decision‑making abilities.
