Maintenance Manager – Petrochemical Industry

About the role

Lexdan Select is recruiting a Maintenance Manager for a leading petrochemical company in Cape Town. The role oversees all maintenance activities, ensuring safety, compliance and operational efficiency across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Prepare and submit daily maintenance and progress reports, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, maintenance schedules and equipment manuals.
• Plan, schedule and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with engineering, HSE and project teams to resolve technical issues and breakdowns.
• Manage maintenance teams, including supervisors, artisans, technicians and subcontractors, and handle material, spare‑part and tool procurement.
• Conduct and attend maintenance meetings with engineers, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Apply BOQ knowledge for quantity verification, costing and tracking.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance or site management.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
