Logistics Assistant

About the role

The Logistics Assistant will support export shipments by creating and releasing Transport Units, verifying documentation, and ensuring accurate dispatch. You will work closely with warehouse and dispatch teams to maintain compliance and resolve any shipment discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Create and release Transport Units (TUs) for export shipments.
• Scan and verify shipments against assigned TUs before dispatch.
• Monitor dispatch performance and investigate shipment variances.
• Verify handling unit labels, shipment contents, and documentation accuracy.
• Maintain export reports, HU reports, and shipment registers.
• Investigate aged shipments, missing HUs, and system‑to‑floor discrepancies.
• Ensure shipment dimensions, weights, and dispatch notes are accurate.
• Follow up on pending collections and export shipment readiness.
• Assist with TU creation, HU label corrections, and export process administration.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Warehousing or a related field (advantageous).
• Relevant warehouse, logistics or export administration experience (advantageous).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
