Logistics Operations Supervisor

About the role

Spidex Express is expanding its South African operations and seeks an experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to lead the local team. You will be responsible for overseeing daily logistics activities, ensuring on‑time delivery, and maintaining cost‑effective processes across multiple cities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the local logistics operation team, schedule shifts, assign tasks, and assess performance.
• Plan and monitor road transportation, cargo pickup, warehousing, sorting, and last‑mile delivery to guarantee on‑time delivery and prevent loss or damage.
• Supervise order processing, verify waybills, delivery and customs documents, and ensure proper filing.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory checks, and stock‑taking, while optimizing layout and reducing damage.
• Handle operational issues such as delays, damages, returns, and customer complaints; propose risk mitigation and process improvements.
• Coordinate with transporters, warehouse partners, third‑party logistics suppliers, and local clients to maintain smooth communication.
• Collect and analyse daily operation data, produce weekly and monthly reports, and drive continuous optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics or transportation supervision.
• Strong knowledge of road transport, warehousing, and last‑mile delivery processes.
• Ability to lead a team, manage schedules, and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
