Procurement Officer

About the role

Austell Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly organised Procurement Officer to join its Supply Chain team in Johannesburg. The role supports procurement operations, demand planning and import tracking to ensure uninterrupted product supply across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop accurate demand forecasts and adjust procurement plans.
• Monitor inventory levels of finished products, identify shortages or excesses and communicate to stakeholders.
• Coordinate supplier orders, expedite deliveries, and manage lead times.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers and logistics providers to track shipments and resolve import issues.
• Maintain supplier performance metrics, address disruptions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric with Mathematics (Higher Grade) and Accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience in an FMCG or pharmaceutical environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
