Logistics Engineer, Contract Logistics

About the role

The Logistics Engineer will join DSV’s Contract Logistics team in Kempton Park to design, plan and implement warehousing and production logistics solutions. The role focuses on configuring and optimizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to meet client requirements and support DSV’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in end‑to‑end WMS implementation projects, acting as the bridge between operations, clients and the WMS vendor.
• Configure, test and fine‑tune WMS applications such as JDA/Blue Yonder Dispatcher (Red Prairie).
• Analyse logistics processes, identify gaps and propose optimisation measures.
• Support data‑driven decision making by extracting and interpreting data from WMS and related databases.
• Travel across Gauteng and occasionally internationally to support client sites and project milestones.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of one year experience in logistics, supply chain or warehousing environments.
• Valid driver’s licence, own transport and ability to travel as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, specifically JDA/Blue Yonder Dispatcher (Red Prairie).
• Competence in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Power Platform.
• Working knowledge of databases and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation, process gap analysis and warehouse best‑practice frameworks such as WERC and SCOR.
