Lecturer – Tax Studies (Full-time, Pretoria)

About the role

The Tax Faculty is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to deliver tax‑focused instruction at both tertiary and CPD levels. Based in Pretoria, you will use the institution’s critical‑thinking methodology to develop students’ higher‑order thinking skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops on tax legislation and practice.
• Create, update and maintain course materials and learning resources.
• Design, set and mark assessments, providing timely feedback to learners.
• Participate in curriculum development, ensuring content aligns with current tax regulations.
• Contribute to academic quality assurance and program enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching projects and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in taxation, supported by a degree in Taxation, Accounting, Law or Commerce.
• Professional tax certification or registration is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, training or facilitating learning at tertiary or professional level.
• Excellent communication, presentation and academic writing skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with tax legislation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with LMS platforms.
• Experience using online assessment systems.
• Familiarity with virtual classroom tools.
