Lecturer Nursing (Grade 1/2) – Health Science Colleges

About the role

The Western Cape College of Nursing is seeking qualified nursing professionals to join its teaching staff as Lecturers (Grade 1 or Grade 2). You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality education and clinical training to student nurses across multiple campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide education and training to student nurses, including classroom teaching and clinical accompaniment.
• Coordinate clinical learning exposure between college and clinical sites.
• Develop, implement and monitor quality‑assurance programmes for nursing curricula.
• Participate in the development and review of diploma nursing curricula and ensure alignment with SANC and CHE regulations.
• Supervise students and contribute to continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and represent the College in governance structures.

Required profile

• Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree) accredited by the SANC or equivalent, allowing registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife or Psychiatric Nurse.
• Post‑basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with the SANC.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Grade 1: Minimum 4 years of general nursing experience after registration; Grade 2: Minimum 14 years of experience, including at least 10 years in nursing education.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence and willingness to travel between campuses.
• Strong communication, presentation and conflict‑management skills.
