Lecturer – Management Accounting & Financial Management (Independent Contractor)

About the role

The NewBridge Graduate Institute is seeking an independent‑contract lecturer to teach Management Accounting and Financial Management to commerce students at its Salt River Campus in Cape Town. The role involves designing and delivering lectures, workshops and practical sessions, as well as providing academic support and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops covering fundamentals of management accounting and financial management.
• Design, update and maintain course content, curricula and instructional materials.
• Develop and administer assessments, grade student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Offer academic advice, mentorship and timely responses to student inquiries.
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in departmental committees, administrative tasks and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• An NQF Level 8 (Honours) degree in Financial Management.
• Prior lecturing experience, preferably both in‑person and online.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom.
• Ability to work independently as an independent contractor.

Required skills

• Digital Literacy – proficiency with learning management systems and digital teaching tools.
